Experiment With Me: Nail Wraps

O.P.I’s Nail Apps Lacquer in Shaken Not Stirred RRP $19.99
I received these with the June Lust Have It box. Technically I have used a nail wrap a few years ago, can’t remember the brand, but it was a foil one, and this one was an actual lacquer. It was easy enough to apply; you just have to be careful not to tear it. It came in an air sealed bag and smelled of nail polish once opened! I was going to save this for a suitable occasion but didn’t realise was once you open the bag you need to use it otherwise it will dry out (says so on the back).
Design close up. Image found on Google.
I love these, not particularly fond of the print, but I love the idea and the simplicity behind these. And if you are also like me and hate waiting for polish to dry, these are awesome!
The only downside to these I find would be the price, they are a tad expensive, but for occasions they would be good.

How to apply?
These are pretty straight forward to use.
·         You need clean of anything, dry nails to begin with.
·         Then choice the size you require, peel the clear protective layer off, peel the lacquer off the backing and position correctly. The hardest part I found, was peeling the lacquer off the backing without tearing them, or accidentally folding a tiny piece inwards and then you are left with a little bump at the beginning of your nail.
·         Smooth the lacquer on to your nail.
In this step you will more than likely have a lot of overhang (depending on your nail length) on the packaging it says to file them off but I found a pair of manicure scissors come in handy to trim them back.
·         Then file the edges smooth in a downward motion. Be careful here to, you don’t really want to scrap off too much!
·         I put a clear top coat on to get a bit more wear out of them, but you don’t have to.
They are a little bit scraggly, but oh well, 'first' attempt
How long do they last?
I'll update this when I remove them, but I put the on Sunday afternoon

Would I buy these?
Yes, most likely for special occasions though, but still a yes.

Lust Have It - June Box

Ello 'ello!
I love the boxes they have been coming in this year!
Today I received my June Lust Have It box! This month's box had a 'Great Gatsby' theme (I really must see that movie!)

When I opened the bos the first thing I seen was the O.P.I and got excited haha
It's strange how every time a box arrives, it has the exact things I have recently been looking at but didn't actually buy! Like this month, I was seriously considering buying some stick on nail polish, but couldn't decide on a pattern, and eventually decided they are too expensive when I have all these nail polishes at home already anyway.

L-R: O.P.I Nail Apps, Klara Eyeliner, Savi Soothing Cream, Batiste Dry Shampoo, Pure Fiji Lotion, Real Purity Lipstick with disposable Crown Brush
And I also looked at dry shampoo and lipstick (well, I actually got some lip colours, but still!)

The Contents:
1. O.P.I Pure Lacquer Nails Apps in Shaken Not Stirred RRP $19.99
As I said I was excited to see something from O.P.I in this box, and the very product I had been looking for made it so much better! I would not have chosen this particular print, little martini glasses, but I guess it goes with the theme.
A review will be in a separate post.

2. Klara Cosmetics H20 Proof Eyeliner Pencil Black RRP $18
This black eyeliner pencil has a smudger (or whatever they are called) at the end, which I think is awesome. As far as I can tell from testing on my hand, this eyeliner is smudge proof and will last quite a while. Always a good thing where eyeliner is concerned! I've never had a water proof eyeliner before, the concept of waterproof make up scares me a little, I'll be honest! But definitely impressed!

3. Savi Australia Organic Soothing Cream RRP $27.96, 60ml
A 20ml sample of anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral Australian Certified Organic soothing cream. This little bottle is packed with all different oils and juices, including aloe juice, olive oil, hemp seed oil, rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, just to name a few! It has a very Earthy spice to it, the olive oil, hemp seed oil and some floral scents are the more prominent notes. I like it.

4. Batiste Dry Shampoo Cherry RRP $9.95, 200ml (120g)
I love dry shampoo, such an essential in my daily preparations. This size to is perfect for your handbag, I've never tried this scent, it sort of reminds me of a cherry version of those strawberry impulses I used to always use when I was about 15, that I can't get anymore! The bottle is really cute, and I obviously just all round love this!

5. Pure Fiji Hydrating Body Lotion Coconut Infusion RRP $29.95, 354ml
This is made in Fiji, and obviously smells like coconut. It's lightweight and there isn't really much to say about it, it's really nice and again, perfect handbag size! (that's one of the many reasons I love these boxes)

6. Real Purity Natural Lipstick in Regal Red RRP $15US
This also came with a 10% off voucher, and a Crown Brush Disposable Lip Brush.
This is a really pretty, rich red with cool under tones. The formula is a little dry, but a good dry where it stays where you put it. For a natural, organic product this is really good, I'll probably use that voucher... (it's rare I actually use the vouchers in these boxes, they always expire before I remember I have them).

Stay tuned for reviews.

Shopping trip 22-06-13

Went to get a few things I needed, along with some other stuff. Man, the shop was packed today! Some charity thing that involved football players was on, and people were lined up to meet some footballers... Yeah, took about half an hour longer just to walk around the mall!
Everything I got! Well apart from the boxers I got for Zane!
Lets start with the chocolate first! Seriously the best non-chocolate chocolate I've ever tasted! Zane agrees! (One of those is for him) Banjo the carob bear from The Carob Kitchen, No added sugar, Gluten, theobromine and caffeine free, made with real cocoa butter, and it's an Australia company! Awesome! I ate it while I was typing this... So good.

I got two magazines, Yen and Frankie. Both of these are Australian mags, I used to buy ones from USA and UK, but it's so damn annoying looking at all the cute summer clothes in winter, and then all the awesome winter coats when it's stinking hot outside! Not a real problem, I know, but it's good having awesome magazines from 'home'.

Next up we have my purchases from Big W. I've never tried the brand boe beauty before, but they were $2 each, so if they are good, awesome! I got Pressed powder in #2 Natural F/Powder, a jumbo wind up lip thing in #22 Boudoir Pink. And then I got a Maybelline Baby Lips Colour in Pink Lolita. I love the Baby Lips lip balm and I've wanted one of the coloured ones for a while now. It smells like little girls lip balm, ya know what I mean?

I also went to Priceline and got Waxaway salon wax for $15.99. I've used the Nads bikini wax and it was about the same price for 150g (the waxaway is 200g) so I got this one to try it and see how that works. Because I'm crazy like that and wax myself. It takes probably 4 times the time to do it myself, but at least I don't have someone else looking at my bits... I don't even know hey, I'm still trying to decide which is better. Doing it myself or salon.
swisspers Aloe Skin Perfecting Facial Cleansing Wipes, waxaway salon wax
I also got Swisspers Aloe Skin Perfecting Facial Wipes  for $3.99, which was on sale, these wipes are usually $6, and for some reason I can't justify to myself spending over $5 on these things! Or even $5... I just can't! But $4, woah so different! Hahaha! Anyway..That's all today!

Later!

Tonight

Going to Zane's grand parents for dinner and a quiz night, never been to a quiz night before!

Updates!

Ok, so it has been hectic-ish lately!
First up, Zane and I finally moved into our own house, so we've been really busy setting that up with what little furniture we have. It's getting there!

Once we moved in, Louie kept running away, he tore down walls, chewed through trees, he kept finding a way out of the yard and we felt bad locking him in the laundry all day. That and he obviously has really bad separation anxiety that causes him to destroy!

So, we got him a friend! Meet Jack, the latest member to the family, little jack russell x chihuahua. Very gorgeous, very playful and a very good match for Louie! They are brothers now, they play all day together and love each other :)

Secondly, my contract at work is almost up and I've applied for 40+ jobs in the last two weeks, heard back from one (had an interview, AND a trial, but alas, no job!) and it's starting to stress me a little that I won't be able to find one before the month is over.

I really need something part-time so I can work on getting this damn license! And work on my course, which I've barely even started! (No deadlines means procrastinate whenever I have time I should be using more productively... Like now...)

That's all I can think of now, gotta go fix myself up, going out for dinner! :)

Celeste.
